Flat 12 Bierwerks in Indianapolis
BlueMile Extra Pale Ale Release:
The big day has finally arrived. Join us today at 4pm as we celebrate the tapping of our collaboration with BlueMile. We’ve dubbed it The Official Beer of the Finisher’s Tent. Curious how this collaboration came about? Check out the story here. And while the tapping is exciting enough, that’s not all we’re doing today. If you’re able to sneak away from work, please feel free to join BlueMile co-founder Ashley Johnson for a quick jog from the brewery (about 2 miles) to the circle at 3:30. We’ll tap the beer at 4, chat a bit, pass out some swag and generally have a good time. See you then!

Indy Eleven Opening Match:
This Saturday is another exciting day for not only us, but our partners Indy Eleven. It is their first game in their first season, and we couldn’t be any more excited. Come join us in celebrating, supporting and of course cheering on the first North American Soccer League in Indy. Oh, and be sure to stock up on a couple of Flat 12 bullets (plastic bottles-no glass allowed) for all of your tailgating festivities. Details for the game here. Want more Indy Eleven? Check out some of their Kick Off events here.

NUVO’s Best of Indy:
It’s that time of year again. If you like what we’re doing here is your chance to let us know! This year NUVO decided to mix things up a bit. Instead, of giving you a list to choose from, they’ve added one more step in the process to help find out who really is the Best of Indy. For the first time, you will have the opportunity to nominate your favorite brewery, beer, beer selection, etc. to be in the running for 2014′s Best of Indy. Want to nominate us? Click here for more details and your chance to vote.

Keep a look out on:
· Bloomington- Bloomington Craft Beer Fest is this Saturday. Curious about what we have up our sleeve? Brewer, Rob Caputo, has been tweeting out hints for the last few weeks. But if those haven’t given it away, we will release our plans tomorrow. Stay tuned!
· Indy- Next week is unofficially Tap Takeover Week for us. We have not one but two tap takeovers. First up is at 20 Tap (April 16th), where we will take over a whopping 10 taps. Next is at 86th Street Pub (April 17th), where we will have a mini tap takeover for Shine Showcase.

Upland Beer Bloomington and Indianapolis
Friday, April 11th - Vinyl Tap Rye Pale Ale, a beer made in honor of Record Store Day, will be ready for draft release in mid-April. Upland has partnered with Landlocked Music to donate 10% of sales from Vinyl tap in Bloomington to Lotus Blossoms Education and Arts Foundation, and with LUNA Music to donate 10% of sales from Vinyl Tap in Indianapolis to Second Helpings, a local food rescue organization. This draft-only beer will be on tap at all Upland locations on Friday April 11th and at select bars and restaurants across Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Chicago in the following weeks. It will also be available at Landlocked and LUNA on Record Store Day, April 19th, for customers to enjoy while browsing the vinyl and CD releases that are made exclusively for independent record stores to offer on this day.
Saturday, April 19th - Maibock will be on tap at all Upland locations on Saturday April 19th. This beer is brewed to celebrate the arrival of spring and is full-bodied with a sturdy German hop profile, giving it an inherent spiciness that leads to a crisp, dry finish and a pleased drinker. Maibock is a very small batch beer and consequently is not distributed and will only be available at Upland locations in Bloomington, Indianapolis, and Carmel, IN.
The release of Maibock marks the start of the annual Maifest party at the Upland Brew Pub at 350 W. 11th St. in Bloomington. All day April 19th the Brew Pub will be serving an all-German menu featuring hard-to-pronounce items such as Hasenpfeffer, Schnitzel, and Spatzle. Starting at4:30, free live music will be added to the celebration! There will be plenty of bands, beers, delicious food, singing, dancing, and glass-clinking, so sticking around all day is recommended. Costumes are encouraged, although the most flashy dresser is usually one of the staff!

Books & Brews In Indianapolis
News:
Books & Brews will have new hours effective Monday the 7th. We will now be open until 10pm Monday through Thursday and 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

NEW BREWS:
Shogun Soba Ale (5.1%, 23 IBU) - Our Soba Ale is an amber ale brewed with buckwheat, giving it a salty-sweetness that we think could have calmed the feudal Japan chronicled in the James Clavell classic.

Hop’s Cradle DIPA (7.2%, 85 IBU, on Nitro) - There may be no cradle, but the hops are easy to find in this double-IPA named by one of our Kickstarter backers. Heaping additions of Centennial and Cascade hops highlight this tasty concoction.

Daytime Events:
Weekdays from 12pm-1pm is Kid’s Story Time - come on by and huddle up with a few stories from books in our children’s section. We will have games and other activities for the whole family, too! Coming soon: kid’s arts & crafts and music classes.

Saturday at 10:30am is Kid’s Book Club
Saturday at 1:00pm is our first author event featuring Terence Faherty

Nightly Events:
4/11 - Live Music from Jeremy Vogt and Jon Martin from 8pm-10pm

Starlight Distribution, LLC
From Josh:
April 22nd6:00pm Join us at Mass. Avenue Pub on April 22nd for the tapping of a special keg of Italy's Brewfist Brewing and Oklahoma's Prairie Artisan Ales collaboration beer Spaghetti Western! We are very excited to have received a keg of this very special beer. It is an Coffee Chocolate Imperial Stout weighing it at 8.7%.

This will also be the premier of Brewfist in the Indiana market so we will also be tapping a keg of their Terminal Pale Ale, an awesome session-able pale ale weighing in at a mere 3.7% and hopped with Citra and Summer hops.
Bottles of Brewfist's Heimdall Galaxy Saison will also be available that night!
From Prairie we will also be bringing out a special keg of their Prairie Weiss, a Berliner Weisse style ale and some bottles Prairie/Evil Twin Bible Belt.
April 30th, 5:30pm - We have scheduled our first big kid tap takeover event! It will be held April 30th at Twenty Tap on College Ave, starts at 5:30 PM! W e will be tapping a very special keg of Bible Belt, the much anticipated collaboration between Prairie Artisan Ales and Evil Twin Brewing . This beer is a big over the top imperial stout that combines Prairie's Bomb! and Evil Twin's Even More Jesus stouts resulting in a bold, smokey, and spicy love child! In addition to this we will Also be tapping Prairie's Prairie Ale, their classic saison which is fermented with ale and wine yeasts as well as Brett. But wait there's more! We will also tap Evil Twin's Freudian Slip Barley wine. This hoppy version of the style has an ego almost as big as the flavor it packs! You wont want to miss this event as we only got 2 kegs of Bible Belt for the whole state so this could be your only chance to try it on draft!
Bible Belt bottles are rolling out into the state as we speak, look for them at better beer establishments across the state. While you're scouring the shelves for Bible Belt, keep your eyes peeled for Grassroots Arctic Soiree, we got a limited amount of this one but its really worth searching for. If you aren't familiar with Grassroots its the love child of 2 of the top breweries in the country (Hill Farmstead and Anchorage) and this specific brew is fermented in oak tanks with Brett, lime juice, and hibiscus.
