From Eric at Zink Distributing:
I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about one of my favorite new beers of 2013, the Urban Chestnut Hopfen. I’d give you my description of the beer but I don’t think I can say it as well as the folks at “Modern Brewery Age” magazine.

“In a year marked by an increasing number of off-beat IPAs, Hopfen Bavarian was our favorite non-traditional version of the style. In Hopfen, Urban Chestnut has produced a lively hybrid of German and American styles. The beer is built on a foundation of German pilsner malt, and kettle hopped and dry-hopped with German Hallertaus. It was fermented with a Bavarian lager yeast at slightly higher temperatures (reminiscent of ‘steam beer’ production methods). The 6.1% abv beer has the bold hop profile of an American IPA, but the nontraditional ingredients lend an entirely new slant on the style.”

This year the beer is only available in the Urban Chestnut 8 Bottle Sampler pack. The samplers are available in limited quantities at select locations.

From Patrick at Patrick's Kitchen & Drinks in Zionsville:
We currently are pouring 10 taps of craft brewed goodness. Thanks to all the brewers and keg monkeys who work so hard to bring us all the great beer.
Bloomington Brewing Ruby Bloom amber and Rooftop IPA, Ommengang Adoration (a Belgian strong dark), La Trappe Dubbel for a change from the Quad, Bier's Dunkleweizen and their Pumpkin Porter, Flat-12 Walkabout Pale, Gaffel Kolsch, Left Coast Hop Juice, and Kentucky Brewing's Bourbon Barrel Ale.
